TriOptimum Corporate Archive marks twenty-five years with Lazarus
Twenty-five years after its first deposit, the archive has placed more than a thousand retired TriOptimum products with Frothly’s preservation archive.
HALSWORTH, England, 14 August 2020
Twenty-five years ago today, two EPROMs removed from a laboratory building in Halsworth were read by volunteers from Lazarus, then a small digital rescue project and now Frothly’s preservation archive. They held the firmware of the AccessNet 4K keypad controller, and they made the TriOptimum Corporate Archive the first company archive to deposit its retired products with Lazarus.
Since then the archive has deposited more than a thousand items: firmware, software, manuals and design files from every division. Most are available to the public in the Lazarus reading room.
To mark the anniversary, the archive has released the complete design files of the RC-12 relay cabinet of 1968 for public access.
Lazarus understood something about our products before we did: that the software inside them would be lost long before the steel. Becoming their first partner was the best decision this archive ever made.
More information is available on the Corporate Archive page and on Lazarus.
