TriOptimum Orbital & Research Systems
TriOptimum Orbital & Research Systems builds and operates facilities for research beyond the atmosphere: stations, long-range research vessels and the systems that keep their crews alive. For twenty-three years we have hosted research programs for space agencies, universities and TriOptimum’s own laboratories.
Operations update
Following the Turing Registry decision of 19 October 2026, the management systems of Citadel Station and the research vessel Von Braun are offline and personnel at both facilities have been relocated as a precaution. Research programs hosted at Citadel Station are suspended. Station-management products are unavailable for new orders. Read the company’s statement.
The Turing Registry revokes the licenses of TR-07734 (Citadel Station) and TR-07735 (Von Braun), and suspends three further filings at Citadel Station pending a review of every TriOptimum filing.
Personnel at both facilities are relocated as a precaution. No injuries are reported. Both management systems are taken offline.
Gerald Hume steps down as President. Tobias Wendt, Chief Engineer, becomes Interim President.
The Board forms a Systems Safety and Licensing Committee and appoints a Chief Systems Integrity Officer.
The Registry’s thirty-day appeal window closes. TriOptimum intends to appeal.

- Long-range research vessels
- Crewed vessels for research far from Earth, with the propulsion, life support and shielding to keep a crew working for years at a time. The Von Braun, which entered service in 2022, is the first of its class.
- Station and ship management Unavailable for new orders
- Licensed management systems that run life support, access, logistics and navigation aboard crewed facilities.
- Life support and mission operations
- Closed-loop air, water and food systems, and round-the-clock mission operations from Houston, for our own facilities and for customers’.
RV Von Braun
The Von Braun is a long-range research vessel built by Orbital & Research Systems and in service since January 2022. Its propulsion system was designed by a division team led by Dr. Marie Delacroix.
Its ship-management system was licensed with the Turing Registry as TR-07735. Following the Registry’s decision, the Registry has recommended that the vessel not be boarded, and TriOptimum is complying with that recommendation.
