TriOptimum Network Services (TNS) today announced that it will host a transit relay for Glossia, the open, end-to-end encrypted messaging protocol developed by Frothly, in its Toronto data center, at no charge.

The relay has been admitted to the Glossia network directory under Frothly’s public-interest hosting program, which invites organizations with spare data center capacity to support the network. It will carry encrypted transit traffic between other relays and cannot read the messages it handles.

Glossia is used by journalists, organizers and families in countries where private communication carries real risk. The relay will run on TNS infrastructure and be maintained by TNS engineers alongside the company’s own services, subject to the network’s conformance checks.

A relay is only worth trusting if its safety checks are always on. Toronto is glad to give Glossia a reliable home.

Edward Diego, Vice President, Network Operations, TriOptimum Network Services
