11,600 visitors join TriOptimum’s seventy-fifth anniversary open day at Halsworth Park

HALSWORTH, England, 6 October 2026

More than 11,600 people visited Halsworth Park on Saturday 3 October for TriOptimum’s seventy-fifth anniversary open day, the largest event in the campus’s history.

Visitors toured the Research Laboratories’ materials hall and control-systems test bays, watched a 22-tonne vault door swing on its hinges at the Halsworth Vault Works, and queued for most of the afternoon to see the founders’ workshop, rebuilt for the anniversary from drawings in the Corporate Archive. Retired instrument makers demonstrated the hand calibration of a Model 1 pressure gauge, using the original 1951 dead-weight tester.

The Corporate Archive displayed objects from all six divisions, including the AccessNet 4K controllers whose firmware began the company’s partnership with Lazarus in 1995, and a scale model of Citadel Station that had not left the archive since 2003.

Children under twelve were given a TriOptimum pressure gauge kit to assemble. The company apologizes to the 280 visitors who could not be admitted to the workshop before closing, and has extended its opening on the first Saturday of each month until the end of the year.

Seventy-five years ago three people in a rented workshop promised their customers accuracy, durability and economy. It was wonderful to see so many people come to see where that promise began.
