The long-range research vessel Von Braun has completed its second deployment, returning after fourteen months with results from 23 research programs in astrophysics, materials science, biology and human health.

The deployment was the longest yet for a TriOptimum vessel. Its ship-management system, licensed with the Turing Registry since 2022, managed navigation, life support and resource allocation throughout, with no unplanned interruptions to the crew’s work.

The Von Braun will undergo a scheduled refit, including upgrades to its laboratory modules and its hydroponic and biological research facilities, before beginning its third deployment in 2026.

Fourteen months, 23 programs and a crew who came home in better shape than they left. That is what this ship was built for.

Anatoly Korenchkin, Commander, RV Von Braun
