Citadel Station executive co-authors Frothly working paper on constraints in station-management systems
The paper, written with Citadel Station’s executive, draws on five years of operating data from one of the first licensed station-management systems.
HALSWORTH, England, 17 September 2024
TriOptimum today welcomed the publication of Load-bearing constraints in station-management systems, a working paper written by Dr. Janice Polito of Frothly and Edward Diego, Station Executive of Citadel Station. It is published as Frothly Working Paper FR-WP-2024-41.
The paper draws on five years of operating data from Citadel Station’s management system, licensed with the Turing Registry in 2019, to examine how ethical constraints interact with the day-to-day work of running a crewed facility: access, life support, logistics and scheduling. It concludes that constraints contribute measurably to the reliability of station operations, and recommends that changes to them be reviewed with the care given to any structural modification.
TriOptimum supported the research by giving the authors access to anonymised operating records and to the station’s engineering team.
Our station runs better because its management system knows what it may not do. Five years of operations have taught us a great deal, and we want to share it.
